Overall I'm very happy with the way this image turned out. I especially loved working with this color scheme.

Orion Sky

I have always been so fascinated by space and this work gave me the ability paint an image that included more than one subject that I love. I wanted to paint a classic styled painting with a sci-fi twist.

The story and idea behind this work is that these are human-like creatures that live on a small terrestrial Earth-like planet inside the Orion Nebula. Their sky is illuminated by the surrounding nebula and, at night, their two moons are brightly lit by their giant blue star. Humans could not survive on this world due to the thick radiation. In this image I wanted to illustrate what an alien family might look like on another world.

I was reluctant at first to paint the nudity but I think that the human body is art itself and beautiful and these creatures feel no shame nor need any clothing.

This work was created using Painter and Photoshop. I looked at my own hands for reference as well as my fiances and the Spitzer Space Telescope's Orion Nebula image.

Thanks for taking a look at my work

Aside from working on my planet series I started working on this piece about a month ago and worked on it on and off during two weeks. I really pushed myself with this one and took my time. I sometimes tend to rush a painting in the final stages. For a long time I had had a lot of trouble with blending smoothly and painting skin. After a lot of experimentation I think that I have finally achieved a result for the skin that I'm happy with.

I created this work using Painter and Photoshop. Since I'm pretty bad at painting hands and flowers out of my head I had to look at some references. I used my own hand as a reference for this work.

I took a break from my planet series to work on this piece.

I got inspired one night to paint a beautiful empress who looks as evil as she does kind.

I have my own story in mind for this image but I want the viewer to interpret there own story. I want the viewer to also question what her emotions could be.

I painted this image in Photoshop. No references were used. I spent a lot of time on this image working on her skin especially. Painting the solders in the background was a bit tedious as well but fun at the same time.

Osiris and Isis

I have always been so fascinated by ancient Egypt and have been wanting to do a painting like this for a long time. This is my version of Isis and Osiris. There is a tragic story behind Osiris and Isis, and how Osiris became the God of the underworld. This image is how I like to think of them, young and in love before they became gods. I looked at some old papyrus images of them for refference. The clothing is a bit different from the references that I looked at. I have two signatures in this work one is my regular and one is painted in Hieroglyphics on the vase.

The sketch for this was done in Painter, the painting was done in Photoshop.

For this work I wanted to paint a kitten with a little fantasy flair, rather than just a common image of a kitten sitting in a basket. I did this work completely in Photoshop. I looked at many pictures of kittens for reference before working on this because I hadn't painted many animals before.

I wanted to paint this little dog with some fantasy flair. This dog is basically my creation I don't know if there are any dogs that look exactly like this in the world, I'm sure definitely not this colorful. I looked at a few photos of puppies and dogs to get ideas of what type of dog I wanted to create and paint. I played with different colors until I got a result that I liked. I wanted this dog to look very cute and mysterious much like my kitten image.
